Welcome to the Department of Electronics at Carleton University. Together with our sister Department of System and Computer Engineering we offer programs in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering. We are one of the largest and most research intensive departments in CAD for electronic circuit design, RF and microwave circuits, photonics and integrated circuit technology. The source of our success is due to our outstanding and internationally respected faculty members.

Joseph Botros awarded Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award

I am delighted to inform you that Joseph Botros (Electronics) has been awarded one of our five honourable mentions for the 2017-2018 Outstanding Teaching Assistant Awards. These awards celebrate the contributions and support Teaching Assistants give to the undergraduate programs in their disciplines, as well as their roles in establishing a positive learning environment and in implementing innovative teaching practices.

Tadeusz Kwasniewski 1951- 2018

The Department of Electronics sadly announces the passing of Professor Emeritus Tadeusz Kwasniewski on February 5, 2018. Professor Kwasniewski joined Carleton in 1985. He was widely recognized for his research on frequency synthesis and design of circuits for wireline communications. He was actively engaged with local industry, acting as a consultant for many companies including Mitel, Nortel Networks, Newbridge, PMC-Sierra, and Altera Canada.
